Facebook just announced an enhancement to it’s “lookalike audience” feature: Through the magic of data mining you can now create lookalike audiences to market your product or service to people in other countries.
Got a list of buyers for your new and improved remote control vacuum cleaner? Wanna sell it to the same demographic… but in Japan?
If you’re not familiar with lookalike audience, basically it works like this:
Pretty cool, right?
Well, now you can do it with people living in foreign countries, too. From Facebook:
Lookalike Audiences have always been a great way to find people who are similar to your existing customers. Now we’re introducing enhancements so you can find similar people in other countries, too.
To get started, select your source audience and choose a country where you’d like to find a similar set of people. Facebook will then create a Lookalike Audience of people similar to those in your source audience. These Lookalike Audiences help take the guesswork out of advertising in different markets so you can reach the right people and grow your business globally.
